Carol Joy Stowe 90 of Palo passed away Tuesday April 14, 2020 at home. Joy as everyone knew her, was born in Lake Odessa, Michigan on June 17, 1929, the daughter of Terence and Carol (Hansen) Stowe. In earlier years Joy had taught country school and later after earning her master’s degree in Library Science, she worked at the Ionia Public Library and later as District Receptionist, Librarian and Special Education Central Registry Assistant for the Ionia Independent School District, retiring in 1995. In retirement, Joy enjoyed reading, tending her garden, crocheting and in the evenings, watching her two favorite games shows: Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister: Christine Petrat. Joy is loved and survived by her caregivers; Timothy (Julie) Marsh and their children, Tim Jr., Amanda, Logan, Jeremy, Shelby, Blaze and Logan P., who thought of Joy as a grandmother, along with many friends. Due to the Covid-19 Virus issues, a private graveside service will take place at Palo Cemetery with Pastor Tracy Beyer officiating. Memorials may be given to the Ionia Public Library. Envelopes will be available at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding where funeral care has been entrusted
