Carol K Van Loo

Carol K. Van Loo, 83, of Belding, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Green Acres, Greenville under the care of hospice and her family.  Carol was born June 21, 1939, in Au Gres, the daughter of Edward and Ruth (Widmayer) Bessinger.  She graduated from Standish High School and later earned her master’s degree from Central Michigan University in elementary education. She taught 4th grade for Belding Area Schools for 40 years. She was a member of the  First United Methodist Church, Greenville. Carol liked to read, enjoyed music, and loved family time. Carol is loved and  survived by her son Mike (Laura) Van Loo, of Belding, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren, her sister-in-law Martha Smith of Alaska, and her brother-in-law Dr. Tim Van Loo of Sweden.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ted of 60 years, a daughter Kristy Kiste, a sister Grace and her brother Roger. A  time of visitation with her family  will be 2-5 PM on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. No public funeral will be held. Inurnment will take place in the church columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church, Greenville.
