Carmen R. Geisen, age 89 of Belding, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023 in Greenville following a long illness. She was born in Belding October 8, 1933, the daughter of Bernie and Florence (Orlowski) Brown. Carmen married John N. Geisen on June 23, 1951. They were lifelong Belding residents, building a home and family together. John died on Dec. 23, 2014. They are now together again.
Also preceding her in death were her parents and brothers, Melvin (Anabelle) Brown, Delmar Brown, and Leo (Karen) Brown.
Carmen is survived by her sister, Jean Vander Mel of California; children: Ann (Doug) Bromley, Mary Geisen, Sue (Dale) Baylis, Spencer (Cindy) Geisen, and Julie Stout; 14 grandchildren: Ryan (Christa) Bromley, Katie(Shaun) Slayton, Jenna (Matt) Johnson, Laura (Brett) Swanson, David Baylis, Christina (Daniel) Mickelwright, Luke (Kayla) Baylis, Monica Baylis, Jonathon (Amber) Geisen, Nicholas (Kenzi) Geisen, Joseph Geisen, Zachary Stout, Megan Stout, and Olivia Stout; 20 great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Cody, Tyler, Royce, Isabella, Seth, Mason, Trey, Wyatt, Jacob, Lauryn, Liliana,Caleb, Connor, Brodie, Andrew, Charleigh, Beau, Elsie, and Esmae; many nieces and nephews; close friends, Bonnie and Arlene; and of course, her beloved cats, LuLu and Pepper.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, June 16, 2023 at St. Joseph Cemetery, Belding, with Pastor Ken Martin officiating. Carmen enjoyed music, so in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her honor may be made to the Belding Instrumental Music Program (Belding Area Schools, Instrumental Music 6-12, 850 Hall St. Belding 48809, ATTN: Finance Director.
