Bruce Allen Rockburn

Bruce Allen Rockburn (73) of Grattan, Michigan joined the love of his life, wife Dianne J. Rockburn (Bouchard), in heaven on March 1, 2024.

Bruce "Rocky" Rockburn, son to Virginia (Prinz) & William Rockburn, Sr.; brother to Bill "Butch" (Nancy), Darlene (Robert Lester), and Joan (John Hendricks); father to Jay Sellers (Amy Ausen), Leslie, Tracie (Dave Basarabski), Michael (Becky Brown), and Eric (Shanda Slosser); Pappy to 13 grandkids & 5 great-grandkids; Uncle & Great Uncle to several nieces & nephews; and friend to so many "kicked the bucket", following a brief struggle from complications related to Alzheimer's, at Hathaway Hills Memory Care Unit in Greenville, Michigan.

Bruce was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on April 10, 1950 and relocated with his family to the Grattan area before graduating in 1968 from Belding High School.  His love of hot rods, souped-up snowmobiles, and wrenching on anything mechanical culminated into a lifetime of professions in HVAC and industrial maintenance; retiring from Steelcase in 2012.

Most important to Bruce was the heart he had for life, his family, friends, and the community, where he humbly served as a volunteer fireman from 1970-1995, when he retired as Fire Captain from the Grattan Township Fire Department. 

He never took himself too seriously and had a sense of humor that could make the whole room laugh or bring a smile to a single sad face. So "don't sweat the small stuff" while you join his family to celebrate a life well lived on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Johnson Feuerstein Funeral Home from 2:00 t0 6:00 pm.

"Cause you can't take it with you."
