Brenda Sue ( McCormick) Smith

Brenda Sue (McCormick) Smith, 63, of Greenville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning July 9, 2019 at home. Brenda was born on August 14, 1955 in Greenville, the daughter of John and Rosemary (Steffes) McCormick.

She graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1973. She later worked for the State of Michigan as a Corrections Officer for 27 years. Brenda loved scrapbooking, painting and spending time with family especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Brenda married Brian Lee Smith on January 13, 2002 in Grand Cayman. She is loved and survived by her husband Brian and her children; Shanda Jennings of Lakeview and Kami (Todd) Smith of Sand Lake, her grandchildren; Cadence Jennings, Rylee Doran, Tasha DePue, Chelsie Mackie, Donovan Springsteen, Allie Smith and Graysin Smith, her great-great grandchildren; Emmary and Waylon, her mother Rosie Scheid of Belding and her sister and brothers; Laurinda (Ed) Neve of Belding, Randy McCormick of California and Ron (Chris) McCormick of Virginia. Brenda was preceded in death by her father.

In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place. A time to visit with her family will be 11:00-12:30 PM Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Johnson Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. From 12:30-1:00 PM there will be a time for family and friends to share their special memories about Brenda. A Celebration of Life will take place at 1:30 PM at the Smith home. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
