Betty Weiler Obituary

Betty Weiler 88 of Belding died Sunday July 19, 2020 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Campus. Betty was born on July 31, 1931 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Floyd and Laura (Wright) Butcher. Betty graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1950. Her first job was working as a telephone operator in Belding. Later she worked at Jolly Kids, Royal Down, The Belding Christian Nursing Home and at Burger King in Belding. Betty had a good spirit about life, had worked hard  and had a big faith in Jesus Christ. She was a long-time member of the Center Street Free Methodist Church in Belding and the Sheridan VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She is loved and survived by her children; Joyce A. Weiler of Belding, Robin (Scott) Fitzgerald of Iowa, Bruce Weiler,  Jerry Weiler both of Lakeview many grandchildren, great grandchildren,  four great great grandchildren and a sister Alice Butcher of Grand Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Genevieve, a son William and two brothers: Terry and Clair. A public visitation will be at the Center Street Free Methodist Church,311 E. Center Street,  Belding on Thursday July 23, 2020 from Noon-1:00 PM. Private family services will follow with Pastor Jennifer Lien officiating. Interment will be in Saranac Cemetery. Due to the Governor’s executive orders social distancing and masks are required. Memorials may be given to the Center Street Free Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the church and Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding where funeral care has been entrusted.
