Aletha Lehman Obituary

Aletha A. Lehman, 77, of Muir, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2020 at home under the loving care of her family and Elara Caring Hospice. Aletha was born on August 25, 1942 in Midland, the daughter of Emerson J. and Naomi N. Wetherell.

Aletha retired from Lansing General Hospital as a housekeeper. Later in life she decided she wanted to go back to work. She got a job at the local Walmart. They thought they employed an associate but what they really got was a social worker. She loved that job because she loved to socialize and she loved to help others. Aletha  was a talented seamstress, having made countless quilts, blankets and even clothes, which she lovingly gave to family and friends. She helped many extended family members, neighbors and friends with care allowing them to remain in their own homes. She enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino and was always ready to go shopping. Her biggest love was her husband and family. She enjoyed just being all together and being a part of their lives. Aletha will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.

Aletha is loved and survived by her children; Frank (Fran) Stauffer of Lake Odessa, Lura (Mick) Flanders of Muir, Deb (Paul) Charles of Lyons, Gary (Annette) Lehman of Crystal, Cheryl (Brian) LaSarge and Jeff (Angie) Lehman all of Stanton, 27 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, her brother; Floyd ( Barb) Wetherell of Merrill and special friend Shawn Sproul.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gary, three sons;  Wesley, Charles,  Steve and   two sisters; Pat and Christine.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, January 13, 2020 at Lyons-Muir Church, at the corner of Olmstead Road & M-21, Muir with Pastor Greg Gladding officiating. Committal prayers will follow in Muir  Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00-5:00 PM Sunday at the church. Memorials may be given to Elara Caring Hospice.
