Adabel Ackerson

Adabel Ackerson, 86, of  rural Greenville, passed away at home on November 2, 2021. She was born on June 5, 1935, in Ionia County, the daughter of Elmer and Charlotte (Buffen) Holliday.

Adabel worked for over 25 years at Electrolux in Greenville. In February of 1956 Adabel married Don Ackerson and together they enjoyed almost 55 years of marriage before his death in 2010. She loved crocheting and giving away the items that she made. She enjoyed the simple things in life and delighted in spending time with her family. In her younger years she enjoyed going camping with her husband. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving Adabel are her children; Ricky (Cathy) Ackerson of Lakeview, Randy (Mari-Ann) Ackerson of Greenville, Ray (Karen) Ackerson of Gowen, Roger (Nancy) Ackerson of Coral, ten grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, a brother; Charles (Sharon) Holiday of Newaygo, along with many other extended family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don, and many siblings.

No formal ceremony will be held and Adabel will be buried next to her husband at Riverside Cemetery in Langston.  For those wishing, memorial contributions in memory of Adabel may be given to the American Cancer Society.
