William D. "Bill" Dehn,Sr. Of Belding passed away Wednesday evening June 13, 2018 at home under the loving care of his family and Great Lakes Hospice. Bill was born July 6, 1932 in Belding, the son of John and Margaret (Talbot) Dehn. Bill graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1951. He was a long time member of. St. Joseph Church and the Telephone Pioneer Club. Bill retired from the telephone company after many years of service as an installer-repairman. He enjoyed woodworking, playing golf and the second Wednesday of the month breakfast with his fellow telephone retirees.
On June 21, 1952, in Greenville, he married Shirley Coston. Bill is loved and survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley and their children, Terese Dehn (Marty Mills) of Belding, William Dehn, Jr of Niles, Tony (Kelley) Dehn of Battle Creek, his grandchildren, Brad Gardner, Andy Gardner, Geoff Gardner, Amanda (Rich Mills), Megan (Josh Bradford), Tony Dehn Jr. Krissy Dehn( Nate Howard), great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Drew, Morgan, Vlad, Archer, his sister, Sr Diane Dehn of Grand Rapids, sister-in-law. Diane Dehn of Ionia and Marvel Davis of Lakeview, his brother-in -law Ray Cowles of Belding and his special K-9 companion, Jake. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Donald, his daughter-in-law, Marcia, three grandchildren, Rebecca Dehn, Ethan Gardner, Jason Gardner and sisters-in-law Kay Cowles and Marian Coston, brothers-in-law, Gene Davis, Dick Coston and Jack Coston.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Monday at St. Joseph Church, Belding with Father Mark Bauer as celebrant following Mass a luncheon will be held in the church gym. Committal prayers will be at 2pm at St. Joseph Cemetery, Belding. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6-8 with a rosary prayed at 7:3O pm at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorials may be given to the ALS Association or St. Joseph Church
