Thomas C. “Tom” Neff, 82, of Wilmington, N.C., formerly of Belding, Michigan, passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 in Wilmington. Tom was born on Feb. 4, 1936 in Fairview, MI, the son of Charles and Elizabeth (Johnson) Neff. Tom and his family moved to Belding in 1966, starting to work for Major Manufacturing Company. He spent his entire career working in sales for manufacturing concerns. Always civic minded, Tom served for many years on the Belding Board of Education, served as President of the Belding Band Boosters, was active in the Belding Chamber of Commerce and attended the First Church of God in Belding. Tom enjoyed golf, bowling and watching sports. After retirement, Tom assisted at the Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home in Belding. Tom was friendly, outgoing and was blessed with the ability to talk with and become friends with anybody. He was married on July 21, 1957 in Mio to Judith S. Money. Judith passed away on August 5, 2000. Later while on a trip to Wilmington, Tom met a wonderful southern lady, Margaret Sneed. They were married on May 18, 2002 in Wilmington. While living in Wilmington, Tom enjoyed many of the same things as well as singing and playing music at area nursing homes, served as a Deacon at his church and helped part time at the Hamstead Funeral Home. Tom is loved and survived by his wife Margaret and their children, Jodi (Kim) Edwards, Dayna Neff all of Belding, Clark (Renee Rhodes) Sneed of Surf City, N.C. David (Reba) Sneed, Steve (Carol) Sneed all of Wilmington, his grandchildren Emily, Kelly, Stacey, Wake, Carolina, Madison, and Mercer and 5 great-grandchildren. His parents and brother Roger also preceded him in death. A time to Celebrate Tom’s life will be 11:00 AM on Saturday October 27, 2018 at the First Congregational Church in Belding with Pastor Paul Hulford officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at church. Committal prayers will follow on Sunday at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, MI. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Belding Band Boosters or the Alvah. N. Belding Library. Envelopes will be available at the church and at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding where funeral care has been entrusted.
