Susan L. Rinehart

Susan L. Rinehart, 95, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday morning, June 4, 2019 at Bishop Hills Elder Care in Rockford. Susan was born on January 13, 1924 in Kent County, the daughter of Sidney and Mary (Devine) Northup.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Greenville. While living at Bishop Hills the past few years Susan enjoyed all the daily activities offered especially painting. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and doing crossword puzzles. Susan married Richard C. Rinehart on December 7, 1941 at Scram Lake and he preceded her in death in 2015. Susan is also preceded in death by her parents, son; David and grandson Davey and two daughter- in-laws; Ruth Ann Rinehart and Brenda Rinehart.

Susan is loved and survived by her children; Darlene Burton of Belmont and Laura (Michael) Slingerland of Traverse City, grandchildren; Dan DeLang and Michael Sousa, Heidi (Randy) Alt, Nicki (Dan) Bremmer, Don Burton, Tamara Devine-Rinehart, Tara (Tony) Zamarron, Lois (Mike) Reid and Lindsey Rinehart, great grandchildren; Garret, Cassidy, Will, Mia, Vaughn, Anelise, Lilly, Ethan, Olivia, Grace, Karina, David , Justin and great-great grandchild Layla. 

Funeral services will be 11:00 Am Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the funeral home with Father John Kirkman officiating. Committal prayers will follow in White Swan Cemetery, Greenville. Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Bishop Hills Elder Care Activity Fund.
