Remedios “Mercy” B. Harris, 77, of Belding, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, November 11, 2019 at Spectrum Health United Memorial Campus in Greenville. Mercy was born on December 26, 1941 in Manilla, the Philippines, the daughter of Roman and Maria (Flores) Ballecer.
Mercy grew up in Manilla and was married on March 29, 1967 to a young American soldier; Dennis H. Harris who was stationed in the Philippines. After his service time they moved to Michigan. Mercy had a lifelong love of family especially taking care of her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She proudly graduated through the adult ed program at Belding High School graduating with the Class of 1988. Mercy enjoyed dance, gardening, was an excellent cook and loved being outside. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Mercy is loved and survived by her husband Dennis and their children; Irene (Paul) Smith of Kentwood, Bonnie (Andrew) Gessler of Greenville, David (Karrie) Harris of Gowen, Ammie (Mike) Olmstead of Belding, Dennis (Mary) Harris Jr. of Grand Rapids, Cathy (Don) Hintz of Belding and Kim (Jason) Golombisky of Saranac, 22 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Rosie Camba.
Memorial services will be 6:00 PM Wednesday November 13, 2019 at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Simmons officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family.
