Nancy L. Rockburn 77 of Grattan Township, Belding passed away Tuesday morning January 29, 2019 at home. Born on June 27, 1941 in Sioux City, Iowa, Nancy was the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Spoercke) Swanson. Granddaughter to Richard and Ethel (Elliot) Spoercke. Sister to the late Carolyn Swanson.
She was married on September 2, 1961 in Grand Rapids to William Rockburn. In her earlier years Nancy stayed at home with her children. As they grew up she started working as an accountant for Lipperts Pharmacy in Greenville and Lowell. She worked her last years at Van Haren Electric. She was a gifted artist, enjoyed bowling, fishing and liked to gamble a little, especially on minnow racing at the family reunions. In her later years she found much love and happiness being a grandma. She will be greatly missed.
Nancy is loved and survived by her husband William and their children; James (Sarah) Rockburn of Greenville, Connie Moon and John of Belding, Roger (Janice) Rockburn of Greenville, her grandchildren; Emily (Joshua) Knapp, Charles Moon, Benjamin Moon, Jacob Moon, Henry Rockburn, Elizabeth Rockburn, Garrett Rockburn, Ruby Rockburn and Brianna Rockburn. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
In keeping with her wish’s cremation has taken place. A time to visit with her family and friends will be 2-4 pm on Sunday February 3, 2019 at the funeral home. No funeral will be held. Memorials may be given to the Parkinson’s Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Association.
