Marcella Sower

Marcella L. Sower, 93, of Belding, passed away December 31, 2017 at Bishop Hills Assisted Living in Rockford. Marcella was born on April 28, 1924 in Belding the daughter of Benjamin and Anna (Kessler) Shindorf.

Marcella was a long-time resident of Belding and had graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1978. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Belding VFW Ladies Auxiliary, where she helped with many club activities and enjoyed playing bingo. She married Roy Sower on March 15, 1944 and he preceded her in 2013. She is also preceded by her parents, brother William Shindorf, sister; Pauline Sparks, one granddaughter Cheryl and one grandson John. Since the death of Marcella her sister Rosemary passed on May 20, 2018. Marcella will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Marcella is survived by her daughters; Ellen L. Brewster of Ionia and Patricia S. Wiggins of Belding, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and a sister Theresa TenEyck of Grand Rapids.

A Graveside Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, June 23, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Belding with Deacon Dan Schneider presiding. Memorials may be given to the Belding Library or Belding Museum. Envelopes will be available at the service or Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding where cremation care has been entrusted.
