John M. Wright

John M. Wright, 85, of Belding, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at home under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice. John was born on September 21, 1932 in Butler, IN, the son of John and Iris V. (Moore) Wright.

John proudly served his country in the U. S. Army from 1953 to 1955 and later worked as a supervisor at Extruded Metal Corporation in Belding retiring after 43 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 203 in Belding, life member of the Belding/Ionia Masonic Lodge, past member of the Belding Bible Church and attended Smyrna Bible Church. In earlier years he enjoyed hunting and for many years loved wintering in Sebring, FL. He will be greatly missed.

He married Nancy Lee on February 15, 1953 in Belding. John is loved and survived by his wife Nancy and their daughter Diana (Sam) Faasen of Grattan, grandchildren; Nicki (Chance) Loman, Erik (Bobbi) Faasen, Jamie Faasen and Kasey (Ryan) Laarman, Heather (Andy) Wreschnig, Heidi Jenkins and Ryan Chapman, 15 great grandchildren, and his siblings; Charles (Shirley) Wright of Belding, Janet Teets, Jim (Connie) Wright all of Sebring, FL and Bill (Theresa) Wright of Greenville. John was preceded by his parents and daughter Brenda Chapman.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, January 5, 2018 at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding with Pastor Ron David of Smyrna Bible Church officiating. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Thursday, January 4, 2018 at the funeral home. Interment will be in River Ridge Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Smyrna Bible Church or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
