Fern M Bliss

Fern Maycie (Fisher) Bliss, 83 of Cedarville, OH, went home to be with her Lord Wednesday morning, September 26th, at Hospice of Dayton following a brief battle with cancer.   Fern was born January 27, 1935, in Belding, MI, the daughter of William and Maycie Fisher. 
Fern was a stay at home mom investing in the lives of her children, grandchildren, friends and church.   Later in life she began working at Chemical Bank in Belding before retiring. Fern liked to garden, bake, knit, crochet, cross stitch and do puzzles. As well as being a great wife, mom and grandma, she was also our biggest prayer warrior. Many days were spent praying for her family, relatives and friends. 
Fern was married August 7, 1953, to Merlin Bliss and they were able to spend 58 wonderful years together. She is survived by her children Carol Bliss and David Bliss; her grandchildren Cheyanne Bliss and Dakota Bliss; brother and sisters, Kenneth (Gwen) Fisher, Doris Watts, Clara VanDellen, Marilyn (Glen) Tinson, Eleanor Bilyeu and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters and two brothers. 
A Celebration of Life Service will be Sunday, September 30, 2018, at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home in Belding, MI.  Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 pm, with the service immediately following at 4:00 pm.  Pastor Brian Hanson will be officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Sheridan, MI.

A Memorial Service will also be held on Tuesday, October 2nd, at Grace Baptist Church in Cedarville, OH.  Visitation will be from 4:30 – 6:00 pm, with the service immediately following at 6:00 pm. 
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Grace Baptist Church, Cedarville, OH. 
We would like to express a special thank you to our many family and friends who visited us and prayed with us during her illness, especially the staff at Hospice of Dayton who cared for her until she took her final breath.  Although she will be missed, she is finally “Home.”
