Eugene “Gene” McQueen, 88, of Belding passed away Sunday morning July 8, 2018 in Greenville. Gene was born on May 2, 1930 in Lansing, the son of Bert and Bessie (Willis) McQueen.
Gene was a graduate of Belding High School with the Class of 1948 and later a graduate of Flint Institute of Barbering in 1958. He married Margery Feuerstein on April 18, 1953 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Gene was a barber in Belding for 40 years and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Belding.
He is loved and survived by his wife Margery and their children; Steve (Diane) McQueen of Belding and Susie (Rob) Weick of Fenwick, grandchildren; Erin (Alan) Young of Ada, Michael McQueen of Sacramento, CA, Gerritt Weick of Fenwick, great grandchildren; Graham Young and Clare Young, and a brother J. B. McQueen of Oxford, MI. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, brother and two sisters-in-law; Willis (Hazel) McQueen and Bonnie McQueen.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday, July 12, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Belding with Fr. Troy A. Nevins as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm with a rosary at 7:30 at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Private interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Belding. Memorials may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the Belding Library.
