Elmer L. King Jr., 57 of Belding passed away Thursday evening March 15, 2018 at Metron of Belding. Elmer was born on September 26, 1960 in Belding, the son of Elmer and June (Briggs) King Sr. He graduated from Belding High School and in earlier years had enjoyed hunting and fishing. Elmer had a lifelong love of enjoying all types of music and had played in a band called the Country Connections, playing for several years at the Turk Lake Bar. He enjoyed woodworking and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Elmer is loved and survived by his children; Brandon King and Amber King both of Belding, his longtime girlfriend; Cathy Battjes of Belding, step children; Katie Battjes of Grand Rapids, Cassandra Battjes of Belding, Abby Battjes of Detroit, his grandchildren; Ethan “ Popeye”, Phoebe, Sage, temperance, Keegan, Elizabeth, Scarlett, his siblings; Linda ( Ray) Krieger of Belding, Vicky ( Wayne) Linebaugh of Greenville, Barb Alman of Belding, Cheryl ( Scott) Cable of Carson City, Brenda ( Curt) Petersen , Brian ( Sherry) King all of Greenville, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Elmer was preceded by his parents and one sister Sandy. In keeping with family wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 4:00 pm, Saturday March 24, 2018 at the Belding Free Methodist Church with Pastor Terri Hanson officiating. Visitation with the family will be at church from 2-4 pm. Memorials may be given to the family. Envelopes will be available at the service and at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding where cremation services were entrusted.
