Efrain Freddy Rivera

Efrain “Freddy” Rivera, 66, of Greenville, passed away 
unexpectedly Monday, October 
30, 2017 at Spectrum Health in Greenville. Efrain was 
born on March 17, 1951 in New 
York City, the son of Gregorio Rivera (divorced) and 
Elisa (Zalduondo) Sanchez

Freddy had retired as a copier repair technician 
working many years with the Xerox 
Corporation and later as an independent repairman. 
Freddy was a jack of all trades and 
known to family and friends as Mr. fix it. He was an 
accomplished inventor and held 
several patents. In recent years he enjoyed kayaking 
and working with his newly 
acquired farming skills at Good Land Growers near 
Belding. He had the love of family 
and friends and will be greatly missed.

Freddy married Gail Marie Harding on June 13, 1981 in 
Central Park, NY. He is loved 
and survived by his wife Gail and their children; Karisia 
(Scot) Hoskins of Greenville, 
Damaris Rivera (Tida Wright) of Knoxville, TN, 
Jonathan (Ivana) Rivera of Belding, 
Sonia (Phillip) Joubert of Knoxville, TN, Kendra 
(Matthew) Joubert of Norwack, CT, 
grandchildren; Logan, Xander, Elisa, Viktoria, Eva, Eli, 
Jael, Ellen, siblings; Lisa 
Sanchez MO, Greg Rivera of FL, Angel (Vania) Rivera of 
PA, Brenda Liz Rivera of 
Puerto Rico. Freddy was preceded in death by his 
parents and adopted father Louis 
Sanchez.

In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place. 
A memorial service celebrating 
his life will be 2:00 PM Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 
Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral 
Home, Belding with Pastor Pete McGowan and Pastor 
Joseph Fletcher officiating. The 
family will greet relatives and friends one hour before 
the service. Memorials may be 
given to Mosiac Ministries. Envelopes will be available 
at the funeral home.
