Donald Moorhead

Donald E. Moorhead, 75, of Orleans, passed away Monday, March 4, 2019 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus after a short illness. Don was born on November 20, 1943 in Burlington, Wisconsin, the son of Raymond C. and Betty J. (Ross) Moorhead. In earlier years Don had worked and retired  as a machinist with General Tire in Ionia. He later  worked as a driver for Lighthouse in Lowell. Don enjoyed  many sports and activities; including bowling, scuba diving, flying airplanes, baseball and most of all golf. He also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino.  Don had a big love of family and enjoyed the many times they were together. He will be greatly missed but always lovingly remembered. He was married on August 14, 1971 in Ionia to Diana L. Jones.

Don is loved and survived by his wife Diana and their children; Michelle (Larry) Warner of Orleans, Joseph (Tina) Moorhead, Carrie (Richard) Danks all of Belding, grandchildren; Courtney (Richard) Hovinga, Morgan Wood, Donald (Alisha) Brower, Anna (Chris) Spaulding, Alexis (James) Hensley and Jordan Moorhead, 13 great grandchildren, sister; Dorothy Schofield of Gillette, WY. Don was preceded in death by his parents a sister Diane and his in laws; Paul and Lena Jones. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Shiloh Community Church with Pastor Mark VanKleeck of Orleans Bible Church officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening 5:00-8:00 PM at Johnson Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Committal prayers  will be  in Orleans Twp. Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Fred and Lena Meijer Heart Center-Stroke Unit.
