David E Pierson

David E. Pierson, 69, of Belding, passed away Sunday June 9, 2019 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. David was born on June 22, 1949 in Belding, the son of Elwyn and Hilda (Hodson) Pierson.

He graduated from Belding High School and later proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam war from 1967-1969. David enjoyed tinkering with things, pike fishing, hunting especially deer and pheasant with his daughter.  For over 30 years he was a self-employed semi driver and recently worked for Griffin Transportation. He married  Bonnie Wilson on July 17, 1971 in Shiloh.

David is loved and survived by his wife Bonnie and their daughter Joanie Pierson of Belding, a sister-in-law Connie Hodges (Carl Badour) of Belding, nephews; Allan (Jen) of Ionia and Joe of Belding, his brother and sister. David was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cassie, his in-laws; James (Opal) Wilson and one brother.

Funeral services will be 11:00 Am Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Shiloh Community Church with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Committal prayers and military honors will follow in Otisco Township Cemetery. Military honors will be given by the joint honor guards of the Belding American Legion and VFW. No visitation will take place. Memorial contributions may be given to the family.
