Wayne Snyder Obituary

World War II veteran, Wayne B. Snyder, aged 101, of Belding, went to be with His Lord on Thursday morning, March 21, 2024, at the Michigan Masonic Home in Alma, Michigan. Wayne was born on December 11, 1922 in Evart, Michigan to Alvah and Bertha (McDonald) Snyder. He graduated from Belding High School in 1940 and followed that with a year of college before enlisting with the United States Army in 1942. He served as a clerk typist during his four years in the service in Central Europe. After his military service, Wayne worked as an office employee for Breimayer Chevrolet in Belding for over 35 years. He was married to Virginia Moore on September 30, 1978. Wayne was a longtime member of Silver Lake Country Club as well as a longstanding member of the Belding United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir.

Wayne is survived by his closest biological family members, Wayne Corey (Diane) of Madison, Wisconsin and Kay Bruner (Don) of Livonia, Michigan; four grandchildren, Jenny Werkema, Kent Coon, Carrie Koehnlein, and Kelly Ramsey; multiple other nieces & nephews from the Snyder side of his family; and many resident friends at the Michigan Masonic Home.
Wayne Corey, who was named after Wayne, visited him often at Masonic Pathways in Alma and talked with his uncle via telephone three times a week for many years.
He was a wonderful grandfather and uncle who will be greatly missed.

Wayne was preceded by his parents; his wife Virginia in 2004, and his sister, Wanda Corey, who passed away last July at the age of 102.

Per Wayne's wishes, there will be no services. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at the Otisco Township Cemetery in Belding. Memorial contributions may be given to the Belding Masonic Lodge or the Alvah N. Belding Library. Envelopes are available at the Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home.
