Carol J. Jeffrey, 65, of Ionia, left her earthly home on Saturday, March 9, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at the University of Michigan Health West Hospital in Wyoming.
The loving wife of Martin Jeffrey, Carol was born on July 7, 1958, in Corpus Christi, Texas to John W. Cade and Caroline Bryant. Following her graduation from high school, she attended Montcalm Community College where she pursued a career in nursing. She started her work as an LPN and then, with further education, became a registered nurse working in various medical facilities for more than thirty years. She loved working with other people and thoroughly enjoyed her nursing career. Even after she retired, she continued to be a “nurse after a nurse” by chauffeuring Martin to his appointments. She enjoyed vacationing, particularly with family in Texas and always enjoyed moments spent with her family. Watching television, reading books, and playing games with the family were all activities that she enjoyed doing.
Carol is survived by her husband, Martin Jeffrey, of Ionia; sons, Wesley Gale and Martin Gale; stepdaughter, Kristine Johnston and stepson, Guy Jeffrey; father, John Cade; stepmother Barbara Cade; sister Ruby Lee Henderson (David) of Texas; three stepbrothers, Skeeter, Jason, and Timmy; a dear sister-in-law, Patricia Pahl of Fenwick; and many loved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Caroline Sanderlin.
Cremation was entrusted to Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home in Belding and a celebration of life for Carol will be held at a later date.
